Hi, my name is Dimple Bhawsar, I work for the rates department at Société Générale, which is under the fixed income, commodities and currencies department. My role there is I’m a senior sales-person, covering German-speaking clients. I work in a team of 7 people, we are all geographically organized, so I myself, with 6 others cover German speaking companies, or banks, financial institutions and asset managers. What we try to do is to provide our clients with solutions for the use of products such as derivatives and bonds, and this could be an array of bonds ranging from government bonds to covered bonds, in a multitude of currencies. SocGen provides a very good platform as a derivatives house, to provide clients with derivative solutions. This is one of my main roles, to use our platform to provide solutions to our clients. I started at SG in August 2004. I joined as a V-P, and prior to that I was working with solely derivatives. My attraction to SG, what made me apply here, it was … SG is a large European player and I wanted to be part of bigger business and to understand and see different possibilities that were open at SocGen that I didn’t have at my previous institution. I would say my career has developed vastly whilst at SocGen, I’ve had exposure to many different client types, different products, which has totally broadened my know-how. What I like about the people at SG, there is diversity, people from all walks of life, being able to interact with people who have seen the market who’ve been around for 10 years, people who’ve just joined the market, being able to train up new juniors; it has provided a nice platform and a nice working environment.
