My name is James Watson. I’m the head of electronic trading sales in London, for the GEDs department in equities. My role is to assist the growth of the new trading channels for equities using SocGen’s electronic trading platforms. That would mean algorithmic work, direct market access. In this day and age more and more of our clients are using their own internal systems and like to execute the trades themselves directly into the market. Société Générale provides that platform and my team works specifically to connect those clients and to ensure that the clients have a good experience. I expect the question is, what made me join Société Générale? When I joined Société Générale, I came from another bank and what impressed me were three things in particular. One of them was I really liked the team. It became extremely apparent that teamwork was a great part of the culture here at Société Générale People have the attitude where they want to help you, they want to move forward, there is nobody who says no to you. A problem shared is a problem halved seems to be attitude. I think that’s a really good thing. I think what’s also important is that it seems to me that there’s a lot of mobility within the company; if you are interested in travelling, interested in expanding your horizons, if you’re interested in having a different approach to how you might want to mould your career, it’s possible to work within the company either in new York, Tokyo, Asia, Australia. The other thing that I really like about working at Société Générale is trust. From the very first moment that I started interviewing with the company, people made me feel welcome, and what they were saying made sense. I’ve never felt at any stage that I was being sold to. I was being given facts. I was being given decent information for me to make my decision. And that led to me joining Société Générale. So all in all, teamwork, mobility, and also trust are three things that drew me to the company. If you do decide to join Société Générale, you can do so knowing that you’re joining a company that has a very strong corporate responsibility culture. That’s across diversity, that’s across work ethics. And in general, all I can say is that if you do join Société Générale, you’ll have a lot of fun. Thank you.
