Hello everybody, my name is Cédric Parize and I’m a business auditor within the investment banking part of the Société Générale. The audit mandate is to provide an independent opinion to the management of the bank regarding the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls within the investment banking perimeter. I’ve been working for 14 months with SG. My first 12 months as a trainee and now as a permanent staff member in the European internal auditing of SG investment banking. This staff includes auditors from London – the biggest team – Spain, Italy, Turkey and Poland. I always wanted to work for Société Générale, from when I was a student. Not only because I like black and red, but really for the image of the bank, and the fact that they support care associations and sports, like Rugby. When I see the large panel of activities within SG, I really feel that there is an infinity of things to learn and discover, which is very appealing and offers a career diversity potential that I did not identify in my previous employers. Every day I am positively surprised by the people in SG, as an example, I had the chance to participate in the SG UK challenge of the year – the 3 Peaks – and it was incredible to see the courage and devotion of the team during the challenge, and also during the preparation. I can also mention how SG management and employees are standing strong in front of the financial crisis the world is facing today. I think that you do not need to explain why one of the main principles of SG investment banking is “Our people are our strength”.
