My name is Elsa Favre and I work in structured solutions at SG London. I’m in charge of marketing equity derivative products to institutional and retail clients, in the UK and northern Europe. I have been with SG for almost 3 years, having first joined the firm as part of the graduate international program. After studying mathematics and finance, I decided I wanted to work in the equity derivatives field and what attracted me to apply to the graduate program was the international dimension of the scheme, which was unique, and the fact that I knew about the SG equity derivative department’s excellent reputation, and leading position in the industry. The program enabled me to work within three different teams in London and Paris, in sales and structuring, before joining my current desk. It has enabled me to get a better understanding of roles and divisions within the capital markets group, to get a better product knowledge on fixed equity and alternative investment structured products. I was positively surprised by the variety of backgrounds of the people I met when I joined SG, especially on the graduate program, and by the firm’s structure of innovation, which makes it a very stimulating and young working environment.
