Hi. My name is Alexandre. I joined SG about two and half years ago, first as a trainee, following the end of my studies. I joined the department in charge of financing corporates in Eastern Europe, soft-commodities producing companies to be precise, and then after 6 months I was offered this position in London, where now I’m in charge of selling derivatives to corporates, mainly interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives. One thing that really surprised me when I joined SG was the experience actually given to young people, like me. Basically, you are constantly surrounded by people with plenty of experience who know exactly what they’re doing, and have been doing it for several years, and know every step of the transaction. What was an extra surprise to me was that these people were giving a chance to young people like me to learn how these transactions operate, and to actually do things under their supervision. The other thing I liked about SG was the exposure to Eastern Europe and Russia – where I’m from actually. So I wanted to have professional exposure to my home country, put it that way. So I really liked SG in that it was giving me the chance, with a strong name and a strong brand, to gain experience in this region of the world. What I like about the people at SG is that we have the same approach to business – and people are open to developing things together; the cross-selling approach is very strong in this bank. I like the fact that everybody knows each other and there is real team spirit going on, and everyone is aiming for the same thing, which is to better serve our customers.
